LAST GAME
  • Dropped a 71-65 decision to KIAC foe Carlow University Sunday afternoon in the Baisi Athletic Center.
  • The Golden Bears (8-13, 3-7 KIAC) were led by freshmen Savannah Shamblin and Alexandra Combs who posted 11 points each.
  • Shamblin pulled down six rebounds to go with five assists while Combs posted the team's second-best with eight rebounds.
  • Sophomore Julie Conway was just one board away from a double-double with ten points and a game-best nine rebounds to mark a new career-high.
  • Senior LaKisha Adkins led the way for Tech with six assists and four steals.
  • Adkins went a perfect 2-for-2 at the foul line towards her six points.
  • Tech was held to 32.9 percent (24-for-73) shooting from the field while their opponent shot 45.8 percent (27-for-59).
  • The team shot 70.6 percent (12-for-17) from the foul line.

LAST GAME
  • Four Golden Bears finished in double figures and WVU Tech men's basketball ended its three-game  losing streak with a 107-96 decision over Carlow University in KIAC action Sunday afternoon.
  • Sophomore Juwuan Wilson had a double-double effort of 16 points and 11 rebounds while fellow classmate Ryan Atkins led on offense with 33 points including going 13-for-14 from the foul line.
  • Wilson was 12-for-16 at the free throw line and finished with three assists, two steals and a block.
  • Atkins saw 35 minutes of playing time and pulled down seven rebounds for Tech while grabbing a game-high four steals.
  • Senior Eddie Gordon posted 17 points while sophomore Cole Schoolcraft had ten points to round out Tech's top offensive contributors.
  • Schoolcraft was perfect at the bonus line (4-for-4) and grabbed two steals.
  • As a team, the Gold and Blue enjoyed an 87.2 percent (41-for-47) shooting performance from the foul line while shooting 44.1 percent (30-for-68) from the field and 46.2 percent (6-for-13) from beyond the arc.

Last Meet
  • Traveled to Wilkes University Sunday for a quad match against NCAA DII teams SUNY Oneonta, Alfred State and Rochester Institute of Technology, falling 0-3 on the day.
  • The Golden Bears are now 2-11 this season in duals after scores of 33-13 (vs. Oneonta), 24-21 (vs. Alfred State) and 29-15 (vs. RIT).
  • Senior Conrad Lacey (157) and junior Terry Nance II (197) dominated their respective weight classes, finishing with a perfect 3-0 record Sunday.
  • Lacey won by two decisions and a forfeit while Nance picked up his wins by two forfeits and a decision.
  • Lacey defeated Oneonta's T. Marrone with a 12-4 major decision and posted a 6-5 decision over RIT's K. Feeney. Nance won by a 3-2 decision over Oneonta's A. Marino.
  • Junior Colton Rowe went 2-1 during the quad, defeating Alfred's G. VanValen with a 4-3 decision and RIT's J. Donahue 13-11.
  • Freshman Robert Pritt (141) picked up points for Tech winning by forfeit against Oneonta.
  • Junior Paul Gonzales finished the day 1-2, defeating RIT's I. Ocasio with a 3-0 decision.

Inaugural Meet
  • Men's and Women's track and field head into their inaugural meet. The program is new this year to WVU Tech.
  • The program will be phased-in over time, with the 2016 season focusing on sprints and distance running.
  • In the coming years, WVU Tech will recruit future Golden Bears for field and other events.
  • Tech's head cross country coach, Bruce Cox, will also serve as the men's and women's track and field coach with the hopes to expand the program and continually add to the coaching staff.
  • WVU Tech will join five other track and field programs in the KIAC, including Alice Lloyd College, Brescia University, Indiana University East, Point Park University and the University of Rio Grande.
