SEASON OPENER vs. BLUEFIELD (November 1)
- Opened its 2017-18 campaign with a 78-68 victory over Bluefield College.
- Junior Savannah Shamblin had a game-high 24 points to go with a team-best six assists in the victory.
- Tech also saw double-digits from junior Alexandra Combs and sophomore Laura Requena who poured in 17 and 15 points respectively.
- Requena finished with a double-double effort after pulling down 11 rebounds for the Golden Bears while Combs had seven rebounds and four assists.
- As a team, Tech finished 28-for-60 (46.7 percent) from the field while the Rams went 27-for-69 (39.1 percent).
- The Golden Bears also held the advantage in points off turnovers (17-11), second chance points (11-10) and bench points (12-7).
SEASON OPENER vs. GLENVILLE STATE (November 1)
- With just three seconds left to play, WVU Tech's sophomore Nequan Carrington sunk a jumper in the paint off the assist from fellow classmate Junior Arrey and the Golden Bears opened their 2017-18 season with an 82-80 victory over NCAA DII Glenville State College.
- Arrey was just one rebound away from a triple-double in the win, pouring in 16 points to go with ten assists and nine rebounds.
- The Blacklick, Ohio native also posted five steals.
- Carrington finished 6-for-8 from the field towards 13 points while also pulling down seven rebounds.
- Freshman Tamon Scruggs also recorded 16 points to go with five rebounds.
- Junior Brent Daniels and senior Michael Scott rounded out Tech's top offensive contributors with 11 and ten points respectively.
- Scott also marked five rebounds, a block and a steal.
- The team finished 29-for-62 (46.8 percent) from the field while the Pioneers went 25-for-56 (44.6 percent).
- Tech also held the advantage in rebounds (38-31), points off turnovers (21-20), second chance points (14-6) and points in the paint (38-18).

LAST MEETING vs. RIO GRANDE (October 14)
- Ended a double overtime battle even, 1-1.
- Tech produced the first goal of the match-up after senior Ruby Bingham sent a corner kick in which connected with sophomore Miriam Cortez towards the eventual own goal.
- Off the bounce back of a previous RedStorm attempt, Chase Davis posted Rio's goal a little over a minute later to even the game and mark the final score of the contest.
- Tech and Rio finished with seven shots on frame including five from Cortez and seven from Davis.
- The teams finished with six stops in goal each including five from senior Martha Reyna (12-5-1) who protected Tech's net for 110 minutes.

LAST MEETING vs. RIO GRANDE (October 14)
- Dropped their first River States Conference (RSC) game of the season after falling at No. 5 University of Rio Grande 4-0.
- Tech finished with three shots on goal compared to Rio's 13.
- Senior Francisco Neto, sophomore Eduardo Gutierrez and junior Santiago Cruz had one each for the Gold and Blue.
- The RedStorm's goals, all in the first half, were scored by Ben Mendoza, Harry Reilly, Spencer Reinford and Omar Walcott.
- Freshman keeper Jose Domingo Xam-mar made nine stops after a complete game while Rio's Luis Rodriguez was forced to stop three Golden Bear attempts.

- Ended their River States Conference regular season schedule with a 3-0 sweep at University of Rio Grande.
- Senior Bailey Lotozo and freshman Lauren McCall both finished with 11 kills to lead the Gold and Blue.
- Junior Ana Monteiro marked seven kills while sophomore Carolina Bologna had five.
- Freshman Sawyer Hawgood picked up a match-high 20 digs while sophomore Konstantina Pateli posted 12 and Lotozo recorded seven.
- Pateli dished out a match-best 38 assists while producing five service aces.
- The Golden Bears finish the regular season at No. 3 in the conference's east division behind Indiana University East (12-4 RSC) and Point Park University (10-6 RSC).

LAST COMPETITION
- Competed at the Patriot Open hosted by University of the Cumberlands Saturday where 11 Golden Bears grappled towards a championship in their respective classes.
- Sophomore Leland Swafford earned the most wins for Tech, finishing 4-2 on the day and earning five team points at 157 lbs.
- Swafford's largest win on Saturday was a 16-7 major decision over Rahman Johnson.
- Redshirt senior Paul Gonzales (2-2), freshman Logan Robertson (2-2) and senior Corey Palmer (2-2) all picked up two victories in their respective weights, 125 lbs., 133 lbs. and 165 lbs.
- Falls for Tech were earned by senior Tristan Bean who took down Cumberlands' John Williams at 1:33 (133 lbs.) and Robertson with a technical fall, 16-1, over Lindenwood Belleville's Maxwell Irvin.
