REGULAR SEASON MEETING vs. MIDWAY | WVU Tech 75, Midway 67 (January 21)
  • Tech had four Golden Bears score in double digits as they took a 75-67 River States Conference victory over Midway University.
  • Senior Cheyanna Lusk had another big game, finishing a perfect 12-for-12 from the bonus line towards her game-best 21 points.
  • The Cyclone, West Virginia native also pulled down eight rebounds while putting out another game-best with six assists.
  • Sophomore Savannah Shamblin was 8-for-16 from the floor, pouring in 18 points to go with five boards.
  • Fellow classmate Alexandra Combs produced 13 points for the Gold and Blue on 3-for-5 shooting from beyond the arc.
  • Junior Zjhane West earned a double-double effort of 11 rebounds and ten points to round out Tech's top offensive contributors.
  • The Eagles were led by Timitryi Patterson who had 16 points while teammate Patrice Tonge led under the boards with ten rebounds.
  • Defense played a strong part in this contest as WVU Tech was held to 37.5 percent (24-for-64) shooting from the floor while Midway finished 32.8 percent (19-for-58) from the field.

REGULAR SEASON MEETING vs. ASBURY | WVU Tech 106, Asbury 89 (January 17)
  • Four Golden Bears scored in double-digits including an 11-for-12 effort from freshman Junior Arrey.
  • Arrey led all scorers with 23 points while junior Ryan Atkins poured in 19 points and seniors Patrick Gnagbo and Hunter Moles marked 11 points each.
  • Arrey, a Blacklick, Ohio native, also pulled down four rebounds and dished four assists.
  • Atkins finished 8-for-9 from the foul line while pulling down five boards.
  • Gnagbo marked a double-double with a game-high 12 rebounds while Moles passed out four assists.
  • Junior Elisha Boone contributed to the win with nine points and seven rebounds.
  • The Eagles were led by Daulton Peters who posted 18 points while Tyler Smith had an Asbury-high eight boards.
  • As a team, Tech shot an efficient 60.6 percent (43-for-71) from the floor while holding their opponent to just 36.0 percent (27-for-75) shooting.
  • The Golden Bears also held the advantage in rebounds, 47-39.

LAST SERIES
  • Lost a pair of games Sunday afternoon to complete the four-game weekend at the Grizzly Classic hosted by No. 13 Georgia Gwinnett College.
  • The Golden Bears dropped game one, 4-0, to (RV) Brenau University before falling in game two, 22-0 (five innings), to the host school.
  • Game One
    • Junior MaKayla Waugh marked Tech's lone hit in the loss.
    • Freshman Karina Atanacio pitched 1.1 innings, scattering seven hits and five earned runs for the loss.
    • Senior Mackenzie Wilson threw for 2.2 innings, giving up nine hits and two earned runs.
  • Game Two
    • Waugh's double was the only hit the Gold and Blue produced in the final game of the Grizzly Classic.
    • Atanacio was dealt the loss again after pitching 6.0 innings. The Middletown, Delaware native gave up eight hits and two earned runs while striking out one Grizzly.

LAST SERIES
  • Went 1-2 with Lenoir-Rhyne University in a three-game series on a field in Hickory, North Carolina.
  • The Golden Bears (3-7) took game one on Saturday 9-5 before falling in the final two 4-17 and 8-9 to the Bears (11-1).
  • In the series finale, the teams were tied up, 8-8, in the bottom of the ninth inning when a wild pitch from Tech brought in Lenoir-Rhyne's Justin Dean for the winning run.
  • The Gold and Blue managed ten hits with senior Alex Kotheimer and junior Wyatt Belinda leading Tech with two hits each.
  • Belinda finished with two RBI and a run scored while also knocking his second homerun of the season.
  • Kotheimer crossed the plate twice and drove in a run.
  • Senior Tanner Levine also marked two RBI off a triple he hit in the top of the fifth inning.
  • Fellow classmate Sebastian Gomez Herrera posted a double in the loss.
  • On the bases, Kotheimer, Levine and senior Marcus Rodriguez had a steal each.
  • Redshirt junior Garrison Vandeventer (0-1) pitched 2.1 innings for the loss, allowing three earned runs and two hits while striking out one batter.
  • Senior Chris Davidson drew the start on the mound, throwing for 4.2 innings and striking out five Bears while scattering six hits and five earned runs.
