NEW ALBANY, Indiana — The No. 2 seed (East Division), WVU Tech, will travel to No. 1 (West Division) Indiana University Southeast for a seminfinal of the River States Conference (RSC) Men's Basketball Tournament Saturday, February 25 in New Albany, Indiana. Tipoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Tech enters the game with a 2016-17 showing of 23-7 while IU East holds an overall record of 23-5. The Golden Bears advanced to the semifinals with an 88-66 decision over Asbury University while the Grenadiers defeated University of Rio Grande 93-79 to move on.
Both teams are currently ranked in the nation (NAIA DII) including No. 18 for the Grenadiers and No. 20 for the Golden Bears. The winner of this game will continue their season in the RSC Tournament finals, February 28, against the winner of No. 3 (East) Ohio Christian University and No. 1 (East) IU East.
During the regular season, the Gold and Blue defeated IU Southeast 87-67 (January 6) at home in Montgomery, West Virginia.
