- Improved their River States Conference (RSC) record to 6-3 Saturday after a 72-65 victory over Midway University.
- Juniors Alexandra Combs and Savannah Shamblin led the way for the Golden Bears with 17 points each.
- The two also had five assists each while Combs tallied four rebounds and three steals and Shamblin had three rebounds and a steal.
- Sophomore Laura Requena and freshman Brittney Justice both poured in 11 points.
- Requena recorded a double-double with a game-high 12 rebounds to go with four of Tech's nine blocks and three assists.
- Justice finished a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line while grabbing three steals.
- Sophomore Logan Dudley pulled down seven rebounds and recorded five points and two blocks.
- Senior Zjhane West finished with five boards and four points.
- The team was 26-for-66 (39.4 percent) from the floor while Midway went 23-for-65 (35.4 percent).
- The Golden Bears and Eagles were equal under the boards, both teams grabbing 43 rebounds.

- Every Golden Bear on WVU Tech's active roster scored during the team's River States Conference (RSC) win over Midway University, 93-65, Saturday afternoon.
- The balanced offense helped move Tech to 12-8, 6-3 (RSC) while the Eagles hold a record of 5-13, 2-8 (RSC) this season.
- Six Golden Bears hit double-digits including a double-double effort from junior Kevin Thomas-Griffin who finished with a team-high 14 points and 11 rebounds.
- Thomas-Griffin also recorded two blocks and an assist.
- Fellow classmates Brandon Shingles and Thomas Collins and freshman Tamon Scruggs had 13 points each while freshman Andreas Jönsson and junior Brent Daniels poured in 12 points a piece.
- Daniels pulled down six rebounds while Shingles dished six assists.
- Senior Michael Scott grabbed eight boards while marking nine points and three blocks.
- Sophomore Dominik King finished with seven rebounds, four assists and four points.
- The team shot 52.8 percent (38-for-72) from the floor while holding the Eagles to 35.3 percent (24-for-68) shooting.
- Tech also dominated their opponent under the boards, 53-29.

- Sophomore Luke Jobson and freshman Steven Smith punched their tickets to the 53rd Annual Men's Indoor Track and Field NAIA National Championship scheduled to be held March 1-3, 2018 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
- The top performer in the 3,000 Race Walk during the JDL New Year College Kick-off was three-time NAIA All-American Jobson who claimed a new school record with a 13:09 finish.
- Smith, who hails from South Portland, Maine, crossed the line after 14:01, surpassing the 14:15 'A' Standard and automatically qualifying for the national meet in May.
