BECKLEY, West Virginia -- Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for October 26 - November 6, 2018 were announced Wednesday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Junior Dan Nehnevaj (men's cross country) and senior Brianna Enger (women's soccer) headline that week's honors.

The Golden Bears were in post-season action and both earned River States Conference (RSC) awards including Nehnevaj being named the Runner of the Year and the Newcomer of the Year and Enger being honored as Defender of the Year.

Nehnevaj finished first during the RSC Championship to punch his ticket to nationals (NAIA) with a time of 26:20. The Vancouver, Washington native defeated the rest of the 120 opponents by 17 seconds. Nehnevaj's finish also put him on the All-RSC first team.

Enger led the way all season on defense for Tech, who gave up just 13 goals in 14 games. The Dracut, Massachusetts native was also named to the All-RSC first team.

Men's cross country will compete in the NAIA National Championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa this Friday. Women's soccer finished its season with an overall record of 7-6-1.
