GULF SHORES, Alabama – The NAIA 68th annual Men's Outdoor Track and Field National Championships will be held at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Alabama, May 23 – 25.
WVU Tech will be represented by three Golden Bears who will be competing in the 5,000m Race Walk. Seniors Luke Jobson and AJ Gruttadauro and sophomore Steven Smith will be participating in the national championship. The Race Walk is scheduled for Friday, May 24 at 5:40 p.m. (EST).
Golden Bear Notes
- Jobson, a six-time All-American, will compete in his final collegiate competition
- Jobson enters the championship ranked seventh in the nation (NAIA)
- Gruttadauro is looking to become a five-time All-American in his final collegiate race
- Gruttadauro enters the championship ranked third in a field of 16
- Smith is a two-time All-American and is ranked No. 2 in the 5,000m Race Walk
- During the 2018 championship, Smith finished third (21:56.69), Jobson came in fourth (22:14.44) and Gruttadauro crossed sixth (22:48.68)
