BECKLEY, W.Va. -- WVU Tech and No. 7 University of Rio Grande men's soccer played to a 0-0 tie in River States Conference (RSC) play Thursday at Paul Cline Stadium. The Golden Bears now hold a record of 6-4-2, 4-0-1 (RSC) while the RedStorm move to 9-1-2, 6-0-1 (RSC).
Freshman
Ramon Ferrari (Nova Venécia, Espírito Santo, Brazil) made two saves and allowed zero goals in 90 minutes. The Golden Bear defense stopped a total of five RedStorm attempts on goal during the match-up. Rio's keeper, Matheus de Campos, recorded two saves in the complete game.
Tech's two shots on goal were tallied by sophomore
Juan Minguez Malonda (Oliva, Valencia, Spain). Sophomore
Conrad Ryu Eriksson (Tokyo, Japan) and freshman
Vasco Berardo (Lisboa, Portugal) finished with a shot each.
The Gold and Blue will next travel to Oakland City University for more conference action Saturday, October 14.
