Ten home matches in Van Meter Gym highlight the 2023 schedule for the WVU Tech volleyball team. The Golden Bears open the season versus Huntington University in Fort Wayne, In., on August 18 at the On-Set Tournament, while Tech's home opener comes on September 15 against River States Conference (RSC) opponent Point Park University.
After the On-Set Tournament, hosted by University of Saint Francis, Tech will split in two and be joined by alumni for the Gold and Blue Scrimmage on August 26 in Van Meter Gym. The following Friday, the Golden Bears will travel to Ohio for four road matches in the Emileigh Cooper Memorial Classic hosted by University of Rio Grande.
WVU Tech then returns to West Virginia, taking on Appalachian Bible College and Alice Lloyd College September 5 in Mount Hope followed by a trip to NCAA DII Glenville State University September 8.
The Gold and Blue begins conference play next, traveling to Alice Lloyd September 12 before a four-match homestand of Point Park (September 15), Rio Grande (September 16), Ohio Christian University (September 19) and Indiana University East (September 23). On September 16 WVU Tech will play its Cancer Awareness Game.
Tech then heads back to Ohio to face Shawnee State University on September 26 before a match-up at Oakland City University September 29.
The Golden Bears will celebrate seniors to begin play in October on the third against Alice Lloyd after hosting Brescia University September 30 for more conference action.
For the next three matches, Tech will hit the road to Indiana University Purdue University Columbus (October 7), Midway University (October 13) and Indiana University Southeast (October 14).
WVU Tech returns to Van Meter Gym for its final three home matches versus Indiana University Kokomo (October 20), Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College (October 21) and Shawnee State (October 24).
The Golden Bears' final four regular-season matches are on the road at Indiana University East (October 27), Ohio Christian (October 28), Point Park (November 3) and Rio Grande (November 4).
The 2023 River States Conference Championship is scheduled for November 7 (quarterfinals), 10 (semifinals) and 11 (finals) with higher seeds as host schools.
