The Golden Bears showed resilience on the defensive end, highlighted by Aiden Mills (Solarfrogs) finding the net in Game Three and strong defensive efforts from Jay Franklin (Kase) and Jon Wilson (Neblosk) throughout the night. Mills' goal marked the team's first of the 2025–26 campaign, a bright spot in an otherwise tough matchup.

Program History – Rocket League
Rocket League became one of WVU Tech's first varsity esports titles in 2020–21 under coach Korey Tedder. Under current head coach Brad Davis, Tech advanced in the postseason in 2022–23, captured the NECC Fall Championship in 2024–25, and made its first national tournament appearance in Spring 2025.
