Golden Bears close fall Fortnite Builds Trios season

BECKLEY, W.Va. — WVU Tech esports closed out its Fall 2025 ECAC Fortnite Builds Trios regular season Thursday night behind the trio of Brayden Hanshew (Mune), Tobias Hill (Salad) and Karl Hoppe (karl1x), completing the seventh and final week of competition inside the Golden Bear Esports Lab.

Week 7 Results (Nov. 13)

The Golden Bears opened the night with one of their strongest performances of the late fall, securing an 11th-place finish powered by efficient eliminations across the trio. Tech completed two of the three scheduled matches, with Game Three registering as a no-contest due to a lobby reset.

  • Game One: 11th place — Salad 1 elim, Mune 2 elims, karl1x 2 elims (5 total)
  • Game Two: 23rd place, 0 elims
  • Game Three: Not played (lobby code reset)

Using ECAC scoring (21 points for 11th place and 2 points per elim), WVU Tech finished the evening with 31 points.


Season Wrap — Fall 2025 Fortnite Builds Trios

The Golden Bears completed seven weeks of ECAC Fortnite Builds Trios this fall, competing on Oct. 2, Oct. 9, Oct. 16, Oct. 23, Oct. 30, Nov. 6, and Nov. 13. Throughout the semester, the trio continued to develop in the Builds format, highlighted by:

  • A top-three finish in the opening week
  • Multiple top-15 placements throughout the season
  • Consistent elim production from Mune, Salad and karl1x
  • Improved endgame coordination in the later weeks

What's Next

With fall competition now complete, WVU Tech esports shifts focus to offseason development and the upcoming spring slate. The trio of Mune, Salad, and karl1x demonstrated strong growth throughout the semester, building a foundation of improved rotations, better mid-zone engagements, and stronger late-circle survival.

The Golden Bears will return to Fortnite Builds Trios action in Spring 2026, looking to carry this fall's progress into higher placements, expanded point totals, and a push toward ECAC postseason qualification.
