PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (Sept. 27, 2025) — WVU Tech men's swimming opened the 2025-26 campaign at the Dr. Dillery Fall Frenzy, finishing sixth overall in a competitive field highlighted by NAIA powers Lindsey Wilson, Shawnee State and UT Southern. The Golden Bears collected 262 points and two gold medals across two days of racing.

Golden Bear Highlights
- Carmine Bernardo (So., Salerno, Italy) led WVU Tech with two individual victories. Bernardo captured the 100 butterfly (52.50) and 200 butterfly (1:56.21), both personal bests, and added top-10 showings in the 50 free (22.61), 200 free (1:52.21) and relay splits. He was Tech's high-point scorer with 54.5 points.
- Mauro Sanchez Lopez (Fr., Spain) turned in a strong debut with a fourth-place finish in the 100 fly (54.10) and 200 fly (2:09.42), along with a fifth in the 200 IM (2:08.16). He totaled 48 points.
- Lorenzo Silva (Fr., São Paulo, Brazil) impressed in distance events, placing eighth in the 1,650 free (18:29.71) and 12th in the 500 free (5:16.83). He contributed 24 points.
- Jose Fernando Perez (Sr., Trujillo, Peru) delivered depth in sprints and breaststroke, highlighted by an 11th-place 50 free (22.61) and ninth-place 100 breast (1:03.19), scoring 21.5 points.
- Oleguer Siscart Muntané (So., Barcelona, Spain) earned a top-10 in the 100 fly (57.47, 10th) and placed sixth in the 200 fly (2:10.91). He recorded 20 points.
- Bryson George (Jr., St. Vincent and the Grenadines) swam to 13th in the 100 breast (1:04.33) and 21st in the 100 free (52.97), scoring 8 points.
- Noah Maniace (Sr., Osceola, Fla.) added contributions in the 50 free and butterfly events, finishing 23rd in the 200 free (2:27.71).
- Sebastian Mathias Morales Tito (Fr., Beckley, W.Va.) posted a 31st-place finish in the 100 free (57.95) and 18th in the 100 fly (1:02.65).
