Freshman Ignacio Tellechea has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for September 15-22, 2016.

Tellechea had a hat trick in a big win at Georgia Gwinnett College on his way to River States Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference September 19.

Tellechea, a freshman from Madrid, Spain, had three goals and an assist for seven points in the 4-3 win over Georgia Gwinnett.

He also had an assist in a 2-0 win at Shawnee State University for a total of eight points on the week. Tellechea has five goals, three assists and 13 points in seven games. WVU Tech is 5-1-1 on the year. 

The son of Alfredo Tellechea and Teresa Pacheco is majoring in business management.
