Freshman Andres Echeveste has been named a Golden Bear Athlete of the Week for September 29-October 6, 2016.

In his collegiate debut, Echeveste finished second out of 17 golfers in a two-day tournament at the Tazewell Country Club October 4-5. The Caracas, Venezuela native shot a two-round score of 152 on the par 72 course.

With his finish, Echeveste was named to the all-tournament team. WVU Tech finished third with a team score of 648.

Echeveste is majoring in mechanical engineering as a Golden Bear.
