LAST GAME- Junior Elizabeth Evans and sophomore Julie Conway each marked a new career-high last week and the team snapped a five-game losing streak by scoring an 80-79 victory over KIAC foe Indiana University East.
- Evans shot 10-for-13 from the field including a 4-for-6 effort from beyond the arc towards her new career-high.
- The Williamson, West Virginia native also marked two assists and steals and a block and rebound each.
- Conway enjoyed her new career-high by pouring in 13 points. Conway was a perfect 4-for-4 from the foul line while pulling down two boards and dishing two assists.
- Senior LaKisha Adkins and freshman Alexandra Combs had 11 points each to round out Tech's top contributors.
- Adkins took a team-high three steals in addition to six rebounds and four assists.
- Combs pulled down six rebounds while blocking two Red Wolves balls in 24 minutes of play.
- Freshman Savannah Shamblin put out a game-high seven assists to go with five points and four rebounds while senior Courtney Fisher finished the game with eight points and seven rebounds.
- As a team, the Gold and Blue had its best shooting day of the season at the foul line, going 11-for-12 (91.7 percent) as a unit to top their opponent's 12-for-15 (80.0 percent) effort.
- Tech forced 23 Red Wolves' turnovers while committing just 17 themselves.

- Fell 66-65 to the IU East Red Wolves in the Baisi Athletic Center.
- During the first half of play, there were five lead changes and two tied scores and the Gold and Blue entered the locker room trailing 34-33.
- Tech grabbed the quick lead in the first 30 seconds of the final half off a jumper good by sophomore Ryan Atkins and didn't let go of that advantage until the Red Wolves grabbed the victory with just seconds left.
- Tech was led by Atkins who posted a game-high 29 points on 11-for-21 shooting from the field towards his double-double effort that included ten rebounds.
- Junior Paul Stone also marked a double-double by pouring in 19 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
- On the boards, junior Patrick Gnagbo had 11 to go with five points while fellow classmate Hunter Moles pulled down five.
- As a team, Tech shot 35.4 percent (23-for-65) from the field, 25.0 percent (2-for-8) from three-point territory and 54.8 percent (17-for-31) from the bonus.

Last Meet- Finished third out of 15 schools and crowned two champions in the Builder Invitational held at the Newport News Apprentice School Sunday.
- Juniors Paul Gonzales (133) and Terry Nance II (197) each won titles for the Golden Bears for their respective weights.
- Gonzales finished the day a perfect 4-0 including a technical fall over James Madison's CJ Lilovich and a 10-6 decision over Jacob Monn of Alderson Broaddus for the title at 133.
- Nance followed suit at 197, also finishing 4-0 with a fall in the quarterfinal (0:52) and a 6-1 decision over Daniel Bowen of VMI.
- Sophomore Tristan Bean (125) and Junior Conrad Lacey (157) were solid on the mat today, both finishing second in their weight classes.
- Bean was 3-1 during the tournament including a technical fall in the quarterfinal over Apprentice School's Tucker Harvey before falling by decision (9-3) to another Builder in the final to Ty Boyd.
- Lacey also produced 16 team points for Tech with three wins Sunday.
- The junior won by fall (1:40) over ECU's Devin Taylor in the first round and fell to AB's Jason West by decision in the championship round, 8-3.
- Joining those Golden Bears with top-five finishes in the tournament include sophomores Othniel Edmond (133 | 3rd), Corey Palmer (165 | 5th) and Andrew Reininger (235 | 5th) and junior Jon Boarman (285 | 5th).
- Edmond marked two technical falls while Palmer (1:48) and Reininger (2:47) each had a pin. Boarman was 4-2 Sunday, picking up all his wins by fall before falling to teammate Reininger in the fifth place match.
- Reininger finished the day with a fall over Boarman at 2:47.

LAST MEET- Competed in the Zippy Invitational December 4-6 where 20 school records fell overall.
- The women broke eight individual records as well as all five relay records while the men shattered five individual and two relay records.
- The men finished with 774.5 team points to finish sixth out of seven teams while the women finished eighth with 231 points.
- Sophomore Alexandre Quintão led the men's team with a fourth place finish overall in the 200 freestyle while breaking three individual school records.
- The Belo Horizonte, Brazil native swam the 50 freestyle in 21.28 (past record, 21.49), the 100 freestyle in 46.31 (past record, 46.53) and the 200 freestyle in 1:42.05 (past record, 1:42.51).
- Freshman Arthur Bertrand shattered the 100 and 200 backstroke times as an individual, swimming 52.21 (past record, 53.90) and 1:53.20 (past record, 1:59.68) respectively.
- Bertrand, who hails from Lamballe, France, also helped Tech towards new best times in the 200 medley relay and the 400 medley relay.
- The 200 medley relay team also consisted of sophomores Manuel Serrano Laguna, Geoffroy Gauneau and Quentin Cooper who swam a time of 1:34.71 (past time, 1:35.52).
- Bertrand, senior Jack Cavanagh, Gauneau and Quintão made up the 400 medley relay team that touched after 3:28.15 (past time, 3:28.43) to place sixth overall.
- For the women, the Gold and Blue were able to make history by breaking all relay records including completely shattering the time for the 400 medley relay with a 4:02.05 (past time, 4:20.82) and the 800 freestyle relay with a 7:58.53 (past time, 8:31.11).
- Both teams were made up of freshmen Isabela Kiesewetter Zandavalli and Mariana Loureiro, sophomore Kendra Monnin and junior Francine Meyer.
- Those Golden Bears also broke the past school record (3:53.31) in the 400 freestyle relay by touching at 3:42.27.
- The team of Meyer, seniors Rubhi Garcia-Mercado and Shannon Wiercioch and junior Janay Wright-Parks swam a 1:44.02 (past record, 1:44.08) and 1:53.69 (past time, 1:54.57) in the 200 freestyle and medley relays respectively.
- Individually, Meyer busted the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.67 (past time, 24.92) and the 100 freestyle by finishing with a time of 53.52 (past time, 55.73).
- Monnin grabbed four new school records in the 200 freestyle (1:55.58), the 100 breaststroke (1:05.73), the 200 breaststroke (2:22.58) and the 200 individual medley (2:08.28).
- Zandaval also posted new school records in the 100 and 200 backstroke with times of 59.15 and 2:08.41 respectively.
- The WVU Tech swim program is on the rise in David Dent's first year as the interim head coach. In duals, the men are 4-1 while the women hold a record of 2-3, winning their first and second dual meets in program history.
