KINGSPORT, Tennessee -- WVU Tech locked up the 2017 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Men's Swimming Championship on Saturday, edging out second-place Asbury University by only 24 points. The meet was held at the Kingsport Aquatic Center in the HMG Competition Pool in Kingsport, Tennessee.
The Golden Bears maintained first place throughout the three-day event, but Asbury was continually hot on its tail. Tech won with 633 total points, while Asbury compiled 609 total points. St. Andrews University took third place with 556 points while Union College (461), Point University (303) and Milligan College (295) rounded out the field.
Tech's own, David Dent took home Coach of the Year accolades and Juan Patino of St. Andrews took top individual honors as the Swimmer of the Year
