Beckley, W.Va. - Three Golden Bears hit double-digits as WVU Tech fell to Midway University in River States Conference (RSC) play Tuesday at the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center.Â
Sophomores
Alexis Sexton (Lexington, S.C.) and
Alva Hedrich (Muecke, Hessen, Germany) led the team with 16 points each. Hedrich added seven rebounds, four assists and a block while Sexton had five rebounds, two steals and an assist.
Freshman
Kyra Brown (Charleston, W.Va.) came off the bench to produce ten points to go with a rebound and an assist. SeniorsÂ
Elysia Perez (Guam) and
Breeana Grigsby (Stockton, Calif.) recorded nine points each while junior
Stacey Begay (Chinle, Ariz.) had seven.Â
Under the boards, sophomore
Avery Lucas (Hamlin, W.Va.) posted six rebounds, senior
Marquesia Heidt (Townsend, Ga.) had four, Grigsby also finished with four and senior
Leonor Ferreira (Matosinhos, Portugal) and Begay had three apiece.
Tech will stay home for the next contest, hosting Indiana University Southeast Saturday at 1 p.m.
