Golden Bear Athletes of the Week for January 8-14, 2024 were announced Monday by the WVU Tech Athletic Department. Senior Guillermo Usechi (swimming) and junior Luke Reynolds (indoor track & field) highlight the week's honors.
Usechi posted second place finishes in the 50 Free and the 100 Free during a tri-meet against Union and Centre. The senior also helped lead the relay teams for the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Free Relay to third place showings.
Reynolds kicked things off for WVU Tech at the Marshall Alumni Classic with a showing of 7.22m in the hammer throw. The junior followed that up with an 8.87m effort in the shot put.
