WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — WVU Tech women's basketball delivered a complete road performance Saturday afternoon, pulling away for a 92–67 win at Carolina University to improve to 8–2 overall on the season.
The Golden Bears controlled the game from the opening quarter and broke it open late, outscoring Carolina 30–22 in the fourth to turn a steady advantage into a decisive win. WVU Tech showcased its depth, efficiency at the foul line and ability to convert defense into offense throughout the 1 p.m. tip at Williams Gymnasium.
WVU Tech finished the afternoon shooting 43.3 percent from the field and 34.8 percent from three while going 32-of-35 at the free-throw line. The Golden Bears forced 18 Carolina turnovers, turning them into 23 points, and received 45 points from their bench in a balanced, high-energy effort.
Golden Bear Highlights
Freshman forward Alaira Evans led WVU Tech with 13 points, going 8-of-9 at the free-throw line while adding seven rebounds. Cadence Stewart followed with 12 points, knocking down two three-pointers, and senior guard Alexis Sexton recorded a near triple-double with 11 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.
Senior guard Emmanuella Amaefula added seven points and steady ball distribution, while Emily Wratchford, Addyson Amick and Addisyn Smith each scored seven points. Smith was perfect from the field and the line, finishing 1-of-1 shooting and 4-of-4 at the stripe in limited minutes.
Off the bench, Kyra Brown contributed nine points, two steals and strong defensive pressure. Jazzlyn Nixon added six points and seven rebounds inside, while Maggie Boroski, Mikayla Stacy, Abby Eastman and Mary Beth Meadows all chipped in as WVU Tech saw 14 different players score.
As a team, the Golden Bears recorded 21 assists on 26 made field goals, won the rebounding battle 44–37 and scored 28 fast-break points while committing just 12 turnovers.

Carolina entered the day looking to build momentum, but WVU Tech:
- Held Carolina to 35.9 percent shooting
- Forced 18 turnovers and allowed just six points off its own miscues
- Won bench scoring 45–31
- Closed the game with a 30-point fourth quarter
