CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — WVU Tech women's basketball kept its early-season surge rolling Saturday afternoon, picking up a 75-56 road win at Ohio Christian to push its winning streak to five straight and move to 7-1 overall. The Golden Bears shot better than 50 percent from the floor, limited the Trailblazers from three and got a major spark from their bench in another complete team performance.
WVU Tech finished at 51.7 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from beyond the arc while holding Ohio Christian to 2-of-14 from three and a 41.5 percent overall shooting clip. The Golden Bears turned 11 Trailblazer turnovers into 15 points and received 30 points from their reserves, helping them control the game on both ends.
Golden Bear Highlights
Cadence Stewart led all scorers with 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting, including 5-of-8 from three. The junior guard added a rebound, an assist and a block in 20 minutes while continuing her elite perimeter efficiency.
Freshman forward Alaira Evans supplied 7 points and two rebounds, going 3-of-3 at the foul line. Senior guard Alexis Sexton added 6 points and three rebounds, while senior guard Emmanuella Amaefula posted 5 points, two boards and steady defensive work in the lane.
Off the bench, freshman guard Maggie Boroski delivered 9 points, 6 rebounds, an assist and a block, shooting 4-of-8 from the field in 19 strong minutes. Sophomore guard Emily Wratchford stayed perfect from the floor at 3-of-3, finishing with 6 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Junior guard Kyra Brown added 4 points, two rebounds and two assists, while freshman forward Mikayla Stacy chipped in 4 points and an assist. Freshman guard Halle Crouse hit a three for 3 points, and senior forward Jazzlyn Nixon added 2 points and two boards. Freshman post Alivia Monroe closed the scoring with a late layup.
As a team, the Golden Bears held a 24-26 rebounding margin, won second-chance points 8-4 and posted a 15-4 advantage in points off turnovers. They also limited Ohio Christian to just 12 points in the paint.

Ohio Christian entered with three players averaging at least 9.0 points per game and a team that relied heavily on free throws. WVU Tech:
