KOKOMO, Ind. - WVU Tech women's basketball won the third quarter but could not overcome an early deficit in a 67-54 loss to Indiana University Kokomo on Friday afternoon at the Student Activities and Events Center.
The Golden Bears moved to 12-6 overall and 3-5 in River States Conference (RSC) play, while IU Kokomo improved to 9-8 overall and 5-3 in the league.
IU Kokomo took a 21-10 lead after the first quarter and carried a 38-22 advantage into halftime. WVU Tech responded out of the break, outscoring the Cougars 17-14 in the third quarter, but the margin held through the final 10 minutes.
WVU Tech created extra chances with 18 offensive rebounds and scored 20 points off turnovers. The Golden Bears finished with 42 rebounds and went 15-of-21 at the free-throw line.
