BECKLEY, W.Va. – WVU Tech esports continued its strong start in EA Sports FC 26 ECAC competition Monday night as freshman Luca Koenig (Otto132708) earned a 2-0 match win over St. John Fisher University (bleSS12v) inside the Golden Bear Esports Lab.
Koenig opened the best-of-three series with a commanding 6-2 victory while playing as FC Liverpool against Bayern München. He followed with another offensive showcase in game two, securing a 7-3 win using FC Barcelona against Manchester City to complete the sweep.
The win marked Koenig's third match victory of the season and his third 2-0 sweep in ECAC play.
Koenig began the year with a 2-0 match win over Wilmington University (DeepakReddy11) on Feb. 2, highlighted by a 12-1 win with Real Madrid and a 6-0 victory with Paris Saint-Germain. After a 0-2 setback against St. Clair College (Intensedmessi) on Feb. 9, Koenig responded with a 2-0 sweep of Fanshawe College (konzd) on Feb. 16 before adding Monday's win over Fisher.

ECAC EA Sports FC 26 is played 1v1 in a best-of-three format with six-minute halves and crossplay enabled. Players submit multiple club selections before the match and rotate teams throughout the series, with the winning player required to switch to a different club after a victory. Matches are played on a neutral field, Soccer Aid is not permitted, and extra time uses a golden goal tiebreaker if necessary.
