WVU Tech vs. No. 1 Murray State Gold: NECC Nationals Quarterfinal Preview

The Matchup

No. 8 WVU Tech meets No. 1 Murray State Gold in the opening round of the NECC Division 6 Nationals bracket.

The Golden Bears enter nationals as the No. 8 seed following a strong overall season that included multiple key wins down the stretch, highlighted by victories over Loyola University Maryland, Carthage College and CCAC Allegheny. Tech has shown the ability to compete with top-level programs, earning a 2-1 win over Loyola earlier this spring and consistently controlling matches in 2-0 sweeps throughout the year.

Murray State Gold enters as the No. 1 seed in the bracket and the top-ranked program in Division 6 based on national points standings. The Racers lead all teams with 340 total points, while WVU Tech ranks eighth with 203 points .

The winner advances to the Division 6 Nationals semifinal on April 30.
