CLEVELAND, Ohio — WVU Tech women's and men's swimming competed in the Magnus Cup hosted by Cleveland State University November 17-19. The men's squad finished eighth overall while the women ended 14
th. Four school records were broken during the three-day competition in Cleveland, Ohio including two for the men's team and two for the women.

Kendra Monnin surpassed her original 50 Breaststroke record with a 31.02 while junior
Isabela Kiesewetter Zandavalli lowered her own 100 Back record to 58.99.
Senior
Geoffroy Gauneau lowered his 100 Butterfly record to 50.11 while sophomore
Paulo Ignacio, Jr. also broke his own record, touching at 26.30 for a fourth place finish in the 50 Breaststroke.
Ignacio picked up 58 team points for the Gold and Blue, finishing second in the 200 Breaststroke (2:03) and fifth in the 100 Breaststroke (56.46). Gauneau also picked up points for Tech, placing fourth in the 100 IM (52.78) and seventh in the 100 Butterfly (50.11).
Tech will return to the pool Saturday, December 2 when they travel to University of the Cumberlands for their first Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) dual of the 2017-18 season.
