Women's basketball set for RSC quarterfinal at Midway

MIDWAY, Kentucky — WVU Tech women's basketball will face Midway University in a quarterfinal of the River States Conference (RSC) Tournament with a tipoff scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Tech enters the game as the No. 3 seed (East Division) after a 19-11, 10-7 (RSC) showing this season while the Eagles are the No. 2 (West) seed with a record of 21-9, 12-6 (RSC).

The top four teams from each of the RSC East and West Divisions qualified for the conference tournament.

The eight-team, single elimination tournament tips off February 22 with four first-round games around the conference. Winners advance to the semifinals on Saturday, February 25 and the finals are Tuesday, February 28.

The Golden Bears traveled to Midway January 17 where Tech came out on top with a score of 75-67 over the Eagles.

  • The Golden Bears finished 9-7 on the road during the regular season and are 3-2 in their last five contests
