Golden Bears roll past Oakland City, 90-46

Women's Basketball

BECKLEY, W.Va. – WVU Tech women's basketball put together a complete performance on both ends of the floor Saturday afternoon, rolling past Oakland City University, 90-46, in River States Conference (RSC) play at the Beckley Raleigh County Convention Center.

The Golden Bears improved to 13-7 overall and 4-6 in the RSC, while Oakland City moved to 2-20 overall and 1-9 in conference action.

WVU Tech controlled the game from the opening quarter, building a 23-8 lead after one and extending the margin to 49-19 at halftime. The Golden Bears continued to apply pressure after the break and closed the day by outscoring Oakland City 25-13 in the fourth quarter to seal the 44-point win.

WVU Tech finished 38-of-65 from the field (58.5 percent) and knocked down nine three-pointers, going 9-of-14 from deep (64.3 percent). The Golden Bears also held Oakland City to 16-of-46 shooting (34.8 percent) and 2-of-11 from three (18.2 percent).

Golden Bear Highlights

Maggie Boroski powered the Golden Bears with a game-high 14 points off the bench.

Alexis Sexton finished with 12 points and a team-high seven assists.

Alaira Evans added 11 points in 12 minutes, while Cadence Stewart scored 10 points with a pair of three-pointers.

Emily Sharkey scored seven points on 3-of-3 shooting, and Addisyn Smith went 2-of-2 from three for six points.

For Oakland City, Allyson Rideout led the visitors with 18 points.
