- Defeated Penn State Fayette, 101-53, before earning a win over Penn State Worthington Scranton during the J&W Classic in Charlotte, North Carolina last weekend.
- The offense against PSU Worthington Scranton was led by freshman Whittney Justice who poured in 22 points.
- Senior Zjhane West was close behind with 21 points while freshman Brittney Justice (17 points), junior Alexandra Combs (13 points) and sophomore Laura Requena (10 points) also hit double-digits.
- Requena led the team under the boards, earning a double-double effort with a game-best 12 rebounds.
- West and freshman Jessie Beck marked eight rebounds each.
- Freshman Isabel Barrio dished out a game-high nine assists while West posted four.
- As a team, Tech shot 50 percent (42-for-84) from the field while holding their opponent to just 29.1 percent (16-for-55) shooting from the floor.

- Boosted their record to 3-1 in 2017 after defeating Kentucky Christian University (1-4) 97-82.
- The Golden Bears had a balanced offense with five players hitting double-digits including a team-high 21 points from junior Thomas Collins.
- Sophomore Charles King poured in 14 points, freshman Andreas Jönsson had 13 and sophomore Nequan Carrington and senior Michael Scott posted 11 each.
- Under the boards, Scott led the game with 12 rebounds towards a double-double.
- Junior Brent Daniels pulled down ten rebounds to go with seven points while freshman Tamon Scruggs marked nine points and six rebounds.
- The team finished with 25 assists from nine different Golden Bears including a game-best five from Daniels.

- Freshman Marcos de Paula Damaso helped lead WVU Tech men's swimming to a 194-34 dual win over Chatham University.
- The men's squad also competed against the host school, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, falling 152-109.
- The women's team dropped a 87-145 decision to Chatham and fell 40-211 to IUP.
- Damaso took first place in two events including the 1,000 Freestyle (9:55.89) and the 500 Freestyle (4:49.34).
- The Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil native also finished second in the 400 IM (4:20.32) and fifth in the 100 Breaststroke (1:08.41).
- Sophomore Paulo Ignacio, Jr. also won two events, touching first in the 100 (58.83) and 200 (2:12.43) Breaststroke while placing third out of nine swimmers in the 50 Freestyle (22.83).
- Dias also helped the 400 Freestyle Relay team of seniors Jesus Ballesteros, Geoffroy Gauneau and Manuel Serrano Laguna to a top finish with a time of 3:16.47.
- Junior Dan Kelly touched second in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 55.73 Saturday afternoon.
- The women's top performances included second place finishes from senior Kendra Monnin in the 100 (1:09.72) and 200 Breaststroke (2:30.58) while junior Mariana Loureiro was second in the 200 Freestyle (2:04.25).
- The 200 Medley Relay team of Monnin, Mariana Loureiro and juniors Mariara Loureiro and Isabela Kiesewetter Zandavalli earned a third place finish out of six teams, touching with a time of 1:56.58.

LAST COMPETITION
- Finished with two victories in duals after defeating the host school, Penn State Du Bois, 36-15 and Kent State University Tuscarawas 28-18.
- Seniors Tristan Bean (133 lbs.) and Corey Palmer (174 lbs.) scored the two falls for the Gold and Blue Saturday.
- Bean defeated Kent State's Justin Rodriguez while Palmer took down PSU Du Bois' Logan Gilbert.
- Also scoring points by bout for Tech were seniors Paul Gonzales (125 lbs.) and Bryan Overton (174 lbs.) and sophomore Leland Swafford (157 lbs.).
- Gonzales defeated Kent State's Zion Clark by a 12-3 major decision while Swafford (6-0) and Overton (8-7) both won by decision over their respective KSUT opponents.

GETTING TO NATIONALS
- Sophomores Sergio Sanchez and Matias Pazos and senior Matias Gandulfo converted on their penalty kick attempts and freshman goalkeeper Jose Domingo Xam-mar made three stops to help WVU Tech (8-9-4) defeat Midway University (10-5-2) in a shootout, 3-2, and claim the 2017 River States Conference (RSC) title.
- The RSC Championship was forced to penalty kicks after the No. 4 seeded Golden Bears and No. 2 Eagles ended double overtime scoreless.
- Tech finished the game with seven shots on frame compared to their opponent's two. Pazos led the game with four.
- Domingo (6-3-2) marked two saves in 110 minutes of play while Midway's senior Christian Neira (10-5-2) was forced to stop seven Golden Bear attempts during game play.
- Tech earned two shootout victories in the RSC Championship tournament, also defeating No. 1 University of Rio Grande in PK's, 8-7, in the semifinal, to advance to the NAIA National Tournament for the third consecutive season.
- The Gold and Blue kicked off the RSC tournament with a 3-1 win over No. 5 Point Park University.

ECKER-RANDOLPH AT RSC CHAMPIONSHIP
- Ecker-Randolph crossed the line at the River States Conference Championship with a time of 27:39.
- The St. Petersburg, Florida native placed fourth overall to qualify for the NAIA meet.
