2019 RIVER STATES CONFERENCE VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- The 2019 River States Conference (RSC) Volleyball Championship bracket, schedule and qualifiers are set with the end of the regular season this weekend. The eight-team postseason championship will be hosted by Point Park (Pa.) University November 15-16 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The top four teams from each of the RSC East & West Divisions qualified for the championship. The quarterfinals are on Friday, Nov. 15 beginning at 11 a.m. The semifinals and finals are on Saturday, Nov. 16. The RSC Championship winner will receive automatic qualification to the NAIA Volleyball National Championship.

Point Park (22-8, 12-4 RSC) earned the right to host as the RSC East Division champion. The Pioneers are one of two No. 1 seeds in the field, and they open up the tournament on Friday at 11 a.m. versus Asbury (Ky.) University (12-15, 8-8 RSC), the No. 4 seed from the RSC West. Point Park is hosting the conference championship for the first time since 2014. 

Brescia (Ky.) University (26-6, 15-1 RSC) is the No. 1 overall seed and the RSC regular season and RSC West Division champion. With the best RSC record of any team this year, the Bearcats have already guaranteed an automatic bid to the NAIA National Championship with the conference's first qualifying spot. Brescia begins the playoffs on Friday at 1:30 p.m. versus No. 4 seed University of Rio Grande (Ohio) (17-15, 5-11 RSC) from the RSC East.

IU Kokomo (23-11, 13-3 RSC) is the defending RSC champion and comes in as the No. 2 seed from the RSC West. The Cougars square off versus IU East (18-14, 9-7 RSC), the No. 3 seed from the RSC East, on Friday at 4:00 p.m. The IU Kokomo-IU East winner will advance to play the Point Park-Asbury winner in Saturday's first semifinal match at 10:00 a.m.

WVU Tech (21-11, 10-6 RSC) is the No. 2 seed from the RSC East. The Golden Bears face No. 3 seed IU Southeast (24-6, 13-3 RSC) from the RSC West in the final match of Friday's quarterfinals. Start time is 6:30 p.m. The winner will move on to play the winner of Brescia-Rio Grande in the second semifinal on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

The RSC Volleyball Championship final match will be Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Friday's lineup will include an awards ceremony in between matches two and three announcing the all-conference teams and awards.
