January 19, 2012 - WVU Tech mourns the loss of Golden Bear alum and 2002 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, Phil Hudson.
Hudson attended WVU Tech from 1985-1989 and was a member of the 1989 WVIAC Championship football team. In his senior season with the Golden Bears, Phil tallied 1,151 reception yards and currently ranks second on Tech’s Career Receiving list with 2,217 total yards. During his football career with the Golden Bears, he also caught 27 touchdown passes and averaged 17.7 yards per catch.
Hudson was also named to the First Team All-WVIAC in 1989 and ranks twenty-second on the WVIAC’s All-Time Receiving list with 125 catches and 2,217 yards. His 27 career touchdown receptions is also the tenth-best to date in the WVIAC.
