Hall of Fame
Mr. Steve Adams was a 1986 West Virginia Conference Second Team All-Conference Punter and a 1987 & 1989 West Virginia Conference First Team Kicker. He was also 1988 West Virginia Conference First Team Punter.
In 1989 Steve’s performance on special teams helped the Golden Bears earn a share of the 1989 West Virginia Conference Championship and earn a berth to Tech’s first-ever playoff appearance. His efforts also earned him an NAIA Honorable Mention All- American Honors.
Prior to his debut as a Golden Bear, Steve was a member of the 1983 State Championship basketball team and the 1984 State Championship baseball team at Logan High School. Adams was rewarded for his performance on the field and was named to the First Team All-State Baseball team prior to signing with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1984.
Since graduating from Tech in 1990, Steve has continued to win awards in his professional career with Liberty Mutual as an Executive Sales Representative. In 1995 he was awarded with the Vice President’s Award and has since made the Liberty Leaders (top sales) in 2005, 2006 & 2011.
